Bible

This is a simple easy to learn and teach curriculum on how we can study and know God's Word. It is designed and has been used for High School and Adult groups very successfully! It requires little effort on the leader's part, other than to read through it, and have a love and desire to get into God's Word yourself. Because if you do not have a love and passion to be intimate with God, then how will you be able to communicate it to those God has entrusted to you for discipleship?
These are the book resources to help you to understand the text, meanings, and historical circumstances, so you can get more out of your studies.
Remember the Bible was written in Hebrew for most of the Old Testament, and Greek for the New Testament. So there are always many ways to translate a different language.
The Bible is not one "book," it is a "library" of sixty-six books that were written over a period of more than a 1,500 years by many different authors. These authors were "inspired" in their thinking and writing by the Holy Spirit.
CHARTING YOUR PATH "Learning to use the Chart"

This is the step where you keep track of what you learn.
STEP VI" APPLICATION!

This is the step where the rubber of the tires meets the road. All the previous five steps lead up to this. This is the main point of why we study the Bible, to do something with it.
KNOW IT!

Just as the Customs Officer asks you with a deep stern and convicting look when you enter a country, "do you have anything to declare," so must we declare Christ with even more passion and conviction! And we can only do it with knowing it, knowing Him and His Word. This is the step that helps us "internalize" what we are learning.
QUESTIONS: ASK AND LEARN!

Asking questions are the tools to take God's Word and examine it. After this, we learn and grow.
Be aware of the CONTEXT!

The Bible cannot mean something else from what it does say. The Bible cannot mean what it never meant!
OBSERVE IT. ASK WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

When observing, we first ask what it says, then and only then can we observe what it means. Too many people like to get into a hurry and "cut to the chase" for the meaning, and miss a lot and even get the meaning wrong!
